We are seeking an experienced Roofing Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive quotations for residential and commercial roofing projects. The successful candidate will assess project requirements, review plans and specifications, conduct site visits, and determine the materials, labour, equipment, and time needed to complete each job. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure estimates are practical, detailed, and aligned with project expectations.
Key responsibilities include measuring roofs and related structures, identifying existing damage or installation requirements, interpreting drawings and technical documents, and preparing itemised estimates and tenders. You will obtain and compare supplier quotations, maintain up-to-date pricing information, calculate margins, and identify potential risks or variations that could affect project costs. The role will also involve responding to customer enquiries, clarifying scope of work, supporting contract negotiations, and updating estimates when specifications or site conditions change.
Applicants should have previous experience in roofing estimation, construction estimating, quantity surveying, or a closely related role, with a sound understanding of roofing systems, materials, installation methods, and building practices. Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills are essential, along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple quotations to tight deadlines. Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and standard office applications is expected. You should be confident communicating with customers and contractors, capable of working independently, and committed to producing accurate, commercially sound estimates. A valid driving licence may be required for site visits, and knowledge of relevant health, safety, and building regulations would be advantageous.
