Job Description

The primary focus of this position is to oversee processing of food manufacturing operations to meet company standards for food safety, quality, and production protocols. Kettle Operator hours are approximately for first shift 4:00am - 12:30pm or for second shift 12:30pm – 9:30pm. Overtime in this position is probable and schedule may change due to business needs.Role and ResponsibilitiesProductionFollow standards of quality and food safety protocolsFollow all SOP procedures and documentationFor corrective and preventative actions, determine and implement appropriate corrective action and complete C&C Reports and email to Quality Office.Verify Preparation Scale & Packing Scales daily using certified weightsNotify Maintenance Manager of any equipment malfunctions or damage Cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment in production areaVerify monitoring activities assignedVerifying the chart recorder to when it reaches >190°FCollect CCP chart recorders daily after the end of the production dayChecking and documenting in-line protective devices between batches (strainer and magnet)Monitor accumulation of trash in processing area and notify non-production personnel when trash needs to be picked up.Participate in BOS Safety program as required.Additional responsibilities as required.Qualifications and ExperienceGood interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written) and ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levelsAble to follow all HACCP policies and guidelinesKnowledgeable of CCPs & CQPsKnowledgeable of SSOPsThe ability to understand and monitor what task are needed to maintain quality and safety in the production processRequired attributesSelf-starter able to conceptualize and drive initiatives forwardPositive and motivational attitude leading to the overall success of the teamAble to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersCreative problem-solving skillsObsessive attention to detail, well organized and able to juggle many projects at onceComfortable moving at a fast pace and in ambiguous environmentsWilling to address difficult situations head on with patience and respectThe ability to maintain calm under pressureWorking Conditions And Physical EffortThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Kettle Operator encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Physical Demands/EffortsWork requires occasional physical exertion including some lifting of objects weighing up to 40 poundsWilling and able to stand for long periods of timeMental & Visual DemandsWork performed by this position requires a significant level of mental concentration to manage multiple complex tasks.Work requires continuous visual effort for extended periods of time.Work Environment and HazardsEmployee works in a manufacturing setting with frequent exposure to heat/cold, dust, or other factors that may require protective equipment and still pose a hazard.This position has regular exposure to hazards that could result in significant injury and lengthy loss of time at work.Americans With Disabilities ActKettle Cuisine complies with all aspects of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and state disability laws. The listed salary range represents Kettle Cuisine’s good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries for the Savory Creations Int’l/Kettle Cuisine Union City, CA location only. Ranges will be reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. The Kettle Operator Employee in this position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package and is eligible for the annual bonus program up to $1,000.
